Mirklis Salduma candles are made from 100% plant-based soy wax. It is a natural and clean-burning wax that burns slower and more evenly than traditional paraffin wax. We deliberately choose soy wax to create a high-quality candle suitable for unhurried and enjoyable burning at home.

In Mirklis Salduma candles, we use carefully selected, high-quality Florihana essential oils that are suitable for aromatherapy. We craft each scent as a thoughtful essential oil composition, where not only the fragrance matters, but also the feeling it creates—peace, clarity, warmth, and the presence of nature.

Yes. Every Mirklis Salduma product is made by hand—from the porcelain to the candle pouring and its packaging.

Porcelain: handcrafted by Tīna Ceramics.
Mineral composite: handcrafted by us in the studio.
Essential oil blends: developed together with aromatherapy specialist Baiba Lark to ensure both aroma and therapeutic benefits.
Packaging: individually handcrafted by Gundega Sproģe.

Because of this, a Mirklis Salduma candle is not an industrially manufactured product—it is the combined work of several artisans, where every detail is intentionally crafted.

Yes. Every porcelain piece is handmade, so no two pieces are identical. Minor nuances in tone, texture, pattern, and shape naturally arise during the crafting process, giving each piece its own unique character and making every product one of a kind.

Yes. We consciously choose high-quality, thoughtful ingredients. The candles are poured from 100% plant-based soy wax, and scents are created using high-quality Florihana essential oils. We prioritize using materials that are as gentle as possible to both people and the environment.

Burn time depends on the size and shape of the porcelain piece, as well as usage habits. To maximize burn time and ensure an even melt, follow our candle care instructions: allow the wax to melt fully to the edges during the first burn, and trim the wick before each subsequent use.

Use and care

On the first burn, let the candle burn long enough for the melted wax to reach the edges of the vessel evenly. This helps establish a proper wax pool and prevents "tunneling" during future uses.

Placement: set the candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from drafts, children, pets, and flammable items.
Wick length: ensure the wick is approximately 5 mm long before lighting.

Yes. We recommend trimming the wick to approximately 5 mm before each use. Correct wick length ensures a calm, even burn, prevents smoking or large flames, and helps the wax melt consistently. Always ensure the candle is completely cool and the wax has hardened before trimming.

Burn your Mirklis Salduma candle for about 2–3 hours at a time, but no longer than 4 hours. Allow the top layer of wax to melt completely to the edges of the vessel—especially during the first burn—to prevent tunneling. Once melted, extinguish the candle and let it cool completely before lighting it again.

Yes. A slightly rough or uneven surface after extinguishing is a natural characteristic of 100% plant-based soy wax. As the wax cools and solidifies, minor textures or ripple marks can form. This is not a defect, does not affect the candle's performance, and is proof of natural soy wax.

The safest way to extinguish your candle is using a candle snuffer to gently smother the flame. If you don't have one, carefully blow out the flame to avoid splashing hot wax.

Note: do not submerge the wick into the liquid wax, as this can contaminate the wax and impair future burns.
Let the wax cool completely before moving the vessel, and trim the wick to 5 mm before your next burn.

Yes. Mirklis Salduma vessels are crafted for a long life cycle:

Refill it: contact us, and we will happily refill your favorite vessel with new wax and scent.
Repurpose it: carefully remove any wax residue and wash the vessel gently using warm water, mild dish soap, and a soft cloth. Reuse it as a holder for jewelry, small trinkets, or as an accent decor piece.

Yes! Contact us and send your empty piece back to Mirklis Salduma. We will clean, prepare, and refill it with 100% soy wax and your choice of available aromatherapy blends so your favorite piece can start a new chapter. 🕯️

Yes. In the Mirklis Salduma collections, you will find ready-made candle and scent combinations that we have created according to my vision—combining the container shape, color, and scent into one mood.

If you want to create your own combination, in the "Create Yourself" section, you can choose your favorite container, color, and one of the available scents.

However, if you have something even more special in mind or cannot find the exact combination you want on the website, feel free to contact me. Not all possible variations can be put on the website, so I am happy to consider and, if possible, fulfill individual ideas.

Yes. Mirklis Salduma can create larger and individually customized orders for companies, weddings, holidays, and other special events.

Together we can select the most suitable container, color, scent, and design. It is also possible to realize ideas outside the range available on the website, creating something specifically for a particular event, person, or company.

Since such orders are made individually and everything is handcrafted, the production time may be longer than for items from the existing stock. Therefore, for larger or specially developed orders, we recommend contacting us well in advance.
